2007 Scion VIP @ NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Springnationals

After a challenging winter, springtime in the Northeast is always cause for celebration and over 300 invited Scion owners and guests joined us at the Scion VIP @ NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Springnationals event to do just that. Hosted by the NHRA Xplod Springnationals at Englishtown, NJ's famed Raceway Park, the special Scion gathering displayed over 150 customized Scions to over 10,000 Springnationals attendees.

On tap for Scion owners was a full day of fun under the spring sun, including cheering on the Scion Racing team - Brad Personett, Chris Rado, Kenny Tran, and Leslie Armendariz, participating in their own 1/8 mile Scion Drag Challenge and competing in a special Scion VIP car show. Before the start of the drag racing activity, owners were treated to a Driven2Win drag school conducted by two-time champion Nelson Hoyos with help from Scion Racing team members Chris Rado and Leslie Armendariz. And when owners were finished burning rubber on the track and then wiping it off for the show, they enjoyed a catered lunch in the Scion VIP Hospitality Lounge. Besides good food and tunes in the lounge, the Scion VIPs also had a chance to sample Sony’s PlayStation3 on 46” Sony Bravia plasma panels.

Meanwhile, on the big ¼ mile track, the still cool northeast air fanned record-breaking performances from the nation's top NHRA Xplod sport compact drag racers, including those of the Scion Racing team. Between the two tracks, Scion owners could sample all the other lifestyle activities an NHRA Xplod event has to offer, including a manufacturer’s midway, a bikini exhibition, and a giant Xplod Stylefest car show.

For some, the highlight of the day was the Scion product giveaway session which featured over $3,000 worth of products and prizes thanks to generous sponsors, including: Sony Xplod goodies, Ringers mechanics gloves, cases of Lucas Oil products, an AEM cold air induction system, a certificate for $450 towards an ACT performance clutch, and certificates ranging from $50 to $300 towards Scion accessories. In the end, over 35 lucky people walked away with a prize in hand.

For others, the highlight was the trophy ceremony at the end of the day - thirty five trophies were handed out between the Scion VIP car show winners and the top performers in the 1/8-mile Scion Drag Challenge.

For all Scion owners and guests in attendance though - regardless if they won anything, Scion VIP @ NHRA Sport Compact Springnationals was just another great opportunity to get together, share all things Scion, and just celebrate being able to leave the house without a jacket again.

The ScionVIP@NHRA series of owner events is back for 2007! And that means more VIP access, more VIP treatment, more special gift, and most importantly – more fun for everyone. If you’ve been lucky enough to attend a ScionVIP event in the past, you know what to expect. If not, don’t worry – with seven events planned, there are more chances than ever to get together with other Scion owners and experience ScionVIP at a NHRA Xplod Sport Compact event near you.

We are looking to invite 100 lucky Scion owners and their guests to cheer on Scion-powered pro drag racers like Leslie Durst-Armendariz (Horizon Motorsports Scion tC), Kenny Tran (Q Power Scion tC), Chris Rado (WORLD Racing Scion tC), and Brad Personett (Titan Motorsports Scion tC). As our guest, enjoy Scion VIP hospitality with a catered lunch while your Scion is showcased and judged in a special Scion class of the NHRA Xplod car show. Score some swag, mix it up with fellow Scion owners, and most of all – have fun.

*Scion VIP Drag Challenge
From 9AM – Noon (first come, first served), Scion owners will have exclusive use of the Raceway Park 1/8 mile track for the Scion Drag Challenge. Runs will be timed throughout the session with each owner's best pass automatically entered for trophy consideration. The three quickest passes for each Scion model (xA, xB, tC) will be awarded trophies. As well, the owner with the best Reaction Time and the quickest overall Scion will also earn trophies.

A valid driver's license is required to participate.

Scion VIP Car Show
In addition to the drag challenge, every Scion VIP winner will have the opportunity to compete for trophies in the Scion VIP car show. Award categories will be divided into Mild and Wild categories for all three Scion models and trophies will also be given in special categories such as Best Exterior/Paint, Best In Car Entertainment, Best Release Model, Scion Dedication Award, and Best of Show Scion. A catered lunch at the Scion VIP hospitality tent is a part of the package for you and your guest.
